On Tuesday, April 18th COMHAR’s Board of Directors and Executive Council honored Tara Sullivan as the Employee of the Year for 2016.
Tara always goes above and beyond her job responsibilities. She truly is an overachiever with strong clinical skills with the kindest of intentions. Tara is the team leader of DBT, oversees the student interns, provides clinical supervision and carries a large caseload of high risk clients at the outpatient unit at Allegheny Avenue. Tara proves to be a team player when it comes to the ongoing crises she encounters on and off the unit.
Tara also goes out of her way to help those around her including her own supervisor, psychiatrists and division directors. Recently, at the medical director’s request she set up training with a contact in the Camden County police department to train all of the psychiatrists and nurses in NARCAN intervention. She also set up a separate NARCAN training for the unit director, a staff therapist and the office manager. Tara was also an integral part of setting up contact with the local police department and homeland security to provide active shooter training for supervisors at COMHAR as well as for the outpatient department
Recently, Tara was promoted to the Director of our new enhanced outpatient at 2055. Her strong behavioral health clinical skills, knowledge of the D/A world and excellent leadership skills make her the ideal candidate to lead this program into the future.
